Wildlife Ecology

Our Wildlife Ecology faculty are at the forefront of the efforts to improve our understanding of how wildlife species and communities function in our rapidly-changing world.  They are global leaders in the development of basic knowledge relating to disease ecology, behavioral ecology, wildlife-habitat associations, evolutionary ecology, landscape ecology, and population ecology.  By studying species such as lemurs in Madagascar, white-tailed deer in the southeastern United States, and songbirds and herpetofauna across the United States, and using these species as research models for their investigations, they are improving our understanding of wildlife populations today, and projecting how wildlife populations will respond to natural and human-induced changes that will occur in the future.  With top notch field and laboratory facilities, our research program provides exceptional opportunities for the research and training of graduate and undergraduate students.
