Environmental Law
To successfully navigate—and influence—the use, management, and protection of the environment and its natural resources, a solid understanding of environmental law and regulations is essential. This is true whether you work in the private sector, for a government agency, or with a non-governmental organization. Auburn’s Graduate Certificate in Environmental Law offers a focused course of study designed to provide that critical knowledge.
Key Learning Outcomes
Issues of environmental law permeate virtually every aspect of the state and national economy, and the consistent evolution of this field of law requires that professionals working with natural resources possess not only knowledge of environmental law and regulation but also an understanding of the policies and processes underlying it.
The Environment Law program at Auburn University is designed to:
- Enhance students’ understanding of the American legal system.
- Help students better understand the policies behind, and processes by which, environmental laws and regulations are enacted and implemented.
- Provide students with information on processes and practices relevant to compliance with environmental laws.
- Improve students’ critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills.
- Prepare students to take on new professional responsibilities (and perhaps pursue further higher education opportunities).
