Mary Michelle Conway
Mary Michelle Conway is a junior majoring in Forestry with a minor in Urban Forestry. She is from Foley, Alabama. She enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her family and friends. Mary became interested in forestry because of her grandfather and after visiting the college she knew she was meant to be there. As a CFWE Ambassador, she is able to meet many potential students and share her experience in the college with them. Upon graduating, Mary plans to work in the land management side of the forest industry. Mary hopes to implement the leadership skills gained from the FEWL Academy into her future career.
Tine Latimer
Tine Latimer is a junior studying Forestry with a strong passion for environmental conservation and natural resource management. He is from Chattanooga, Tennessee, and loves spending time outdoors, whether hunting, fishing, or exploring the forest. His interest in forestry stems from a desire to balance conservation with industry needs, ensuring the sustainability of natural resources for future generations. Through the FEWL Academy, Tine hopes to develop his leadership skills, gain valuable insights into environmental stewardship, and build strong connections with like-minded individuals. He is eager to learn how to lead effectively in the forestry sector while making a meaningful impact. With a strong appreciation for teamwork and strategic decision-making, Tine looks forward to the opportunities FEWL provides to grow as a leader. After graduation, he plans to pursue an MBA to further develop his business acumen and enhance his ability to drive sustainable solutions within the forestry industry.
Cat Hendricks
Cat Hendricks is a junior studying Environmental Conservation and Management with a minor in Business. She is from Huntsville, Alabama. She enjoys hiking, being outdoors, thrifting, participating in church community, and spending time with her family and friends. Besides FEWL, Cat is also involved in the College of Forestry, Wildlife and Environment Ambassadors, The Society of Natural Resources, and Women in Business. She is currently serving as the President of Ambassadors and is excited to learn more about leadership skills, being a team player, collaboration, politics, and natural resources through FEWL. When she’s not in the Forestry Building or RBD, you can usually find Cat at Camp McDowell, with her roommates, at a basketball game, or Auburn’s finest establishment, Fuji Sushi.
Luke Troutman
Luke Troutman is a junior studying Geospatial and Environmental Informatics. He is from Cullman, AL. He enjoys being outdoors, music, and traveling. Luke is currently serving as the Senate Representative for the College of Forestry, Wildlife, and Environment, he also serves as a CFWE Student Ambassador. Luke hopes to combine his education in GSEI with his growing leadership and communication skills to provide Alabama foresters and farmers with information that will help them more effectively and sustainably manage their lands. Luke is excited to further build on his leadership abilities and establish relationships throughout the state through the FEWL Academy.
Jack Joyner
Jack Joyner is a junior in Environmental Conservation and Management with a minor in Forest Health originally from Hoover, Alabama. Jack was drawn to the degree because of his passion to fight anthropogenic climate change and underregulated industrialization. Jack has held officer positions within the Society for Natural Resources as well as being an undergraduate research tech in the Native Systems Restoration Lab. Along with his lab work, Jack has worked as a summer intern with Alabama Cooperative Extension Systems. In the future, Jack plans to work with the Peace Corps as a volunteer, helping spread conservation techniques across the globe and work alongside different cultures. Jack hopes to devote his career to hands-on and practical applications of ecological restoration in America and abroad.
Samantha Hauth
Samantha Hauth is a sophomore, double majoring in Sustainable Biomaterials and Packaging, and Environmental Conservation and Management. Through the combination of these majors, she is able to combine her interests in natural resources and conservation with her interests in chemistry and product development. She is from Fleming Island, Florida. Her passion for the environment stems from kayaking, hiking, and traveling with her family. She also enjoys reading, singing, and spending time with her friends. Samantha loves getting involved at Auburn as a CFWE Student Ambassador, President for the Sustainable Biomaterials and Packaging Society, and Treasurer for MelAUdic A Cappella. She joined FEWL to grow her communication and leadership skills, and she looks forward to cultivating relationships with others in the Academy.
Noah Parrott
Noah Parrott is a junior studying Wildlife Enterprise Management with a minor in Business. He is from Nashville, TN. Noah enjoys the outdoors, reading, exercising, and cooking. Growing up, he was surrounded by a farming family which sparked an interest in nature, agriculture, and farming food. He spent a summer working for the Nashville State Park system learning about invasive species and maintaining the land. Noah is interested in natural systems and ecosystems. He would like to be able to combine this science with high quality hospitality to operate a hunting lodge. Noah is hoping to learn about the world of policy making, make friends, network, and to improve his leadership skills through FEWL Academy.
Shelby Davis
Shelby Davis is a junior majoring in Wildlife Ecology and Management with a minor in Spanish. She is from Phenix City, Alabama. She is a CFWE student ambassador and the president of The Wildlife Society at Auburn University. She has worked in Dr. Wes Anderson’s Nongame and Nuisance Wildlife Lab for two years. She is currently studying public interaction and identification of alligator snapping turtles as an undergraduate research fellow. She has found her passion in learning about the ecosystems of the world around her, and hopes to gain the leadership skills she needs to excel in the field.
Madison Dillard
Madison Dillard is a junior studying Wildlife Ecology and Management with a minor in Environmental law. She is from Flower Mound, Texas. Madison enjoys spending her time outdoors whether it’s with a good book or family and friends. She is involved in many on-campus organizations, and she cannot wait to see how the leadership academy is going to impact her role in each. She also hopes to one day be able to make an influence in her career in wildlife with the important communication and leadership skills she will learn and sharpen in the academy.
John David
John Miller (JM) David is a Junior studying Geospatial and Environmental Informatics. He was born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida, and has passions for college football, soccer, country music, and the outdoors. JM discovered an interest in Geospatial and Environmental Informatics during his freshman-year exploratory class. Fascinated by the broad application of GIS technology, he is particularly interested in how it plays a role in the construction and development fields. Through the FEWL program, he hopes to develop communication and organizational skills, build meaningful connections, and grow as a leader in the field.
Brianna Travis
Brianna Travis is a junior majoring in Environmental Conservation and Management from New Site, Alabama. Growing up, she frequently visited Lake Martin, Horseshoe Bend, and other natural areas, where she developed a love for the outdoors. In her free time, she enjoys backpacking, traveling, and reading. Brianna is passionate about many facets of natural resources, particularly wetlands and water quality, which has led her to pursue a minor in Watershed Sciences. She currently holds an undergraduate research fellowship in the Wetland Ecology Lab, where she investigates the impact of land use on soil biogeochemistry in headwater wetlands. She is also a student employee at the AU Water Resources Center, president of the Society for Natural Resources, and is a student ambassador for CWFE. After graduation, she plans to attend grad school and joined FEWL Academy to strengthen her communication and leadership skills for this endeavor and beyond.
Thomas Lynch
Tommy is a junior majoring in Environmental Conservation & Management with a minor in Natural Resources Ecology. A nontraditional student form Madison, AL, he decided to go to college to pursue a career doing something he was truly passionate about after working in the residential construction industry as an assistant superintendent. Tommy is an avid lover of the outdoors with experience caving, backpacking, trail running, and paddling, and is always looking for the next big adventure. He always jumps at the chance to get involved at Auburn and is a member of the Auburn Climbing Club, the Coastal Resilience Team, and is the secretary of the Society for Natural Resources. He developed a passion for restoring aquatic habitat connectivity through the removal of dams and other manmade aquatic barriers after attending a dam removal seminar hosted by the Forest Service and is excited about the opportunity to further explore this topic through his summer internship with Westervelt Ecological Services. Tommy hopes his time in FEWL Academy will help him to develop attributes and skills to better give back to his community, be a more effective conservationist, and be a more effective leader.
