The School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences at Auburn University is accepting applications for a lecturer/program coordinator to support the school’s new wildlife enterprise management degree program. Applications for the 12-month, full-time, permanent position must be received by Feb. 1.

In December, the Alabama Commission on Higher Education approved the wildlife enterprise management degree, which creates new opportunities for students seeking careers in the outdoor industry. As of the spring semester, students may enroll in the curriculum primarily offered within the School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences in partnership with the College of Human Sciences and the Harbert College of Business.
The lecturer/program coordinator will work directly with Auburn faculty, staff and administration to further develop, promote and grow the degree program.
In addition to serving as the primary point-of-contact for the degree, the lecturer/program coordinator will teach three to four courses within the degree, interface with national and international partners and support the program’s advising, recruiting and marketing needs.
“With growing interest in the career field, we anticipate the position will be a valuable resource to promote student success within the classroom and beyond,” said Janaki Alavalapati, dean of the School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences.
“The candidate will actively cultivate new internship and scholarship opportunities with industry stakeholders, as well as provide highly-personalized academic advisement for students.”
Qualified applicants for this position will have a master’s degree in wildlife, business, hospitality or related fields, as well as professional experience in the outdoor industry. Applicants with experience in hunting or fishing lodge management will be given preference. The position requires strong written and oral communication skills and a demonstrated ability to coordinate and collaborate with industry partners, students, faculty and staff.
