Expertise: Eckhardt is an expert in the areas of host-pathogen, host-insect and pathogen-insect interactions, fungal biology and ecology, insect biology and ecology and forest health.
Research Interests: Eckhardt studies the biology, ecology and pathogenicity of fungal species that infect pines, how they establish, spread and damage trees. Her experience combines plant pathology with entomology, particularly in understanding how fungi and insects interact to impact tree health.
