The Auburn University School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences has announced its fall Seminar Series schedule. The series, offered throughout the fall and spring semesters, was created by the school for students, professionals and faculty who wish to learn about best practices, current research, and trends impacting their respective fields or areas of study.

Invited expert speakers will include researchers from Auburn University School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences and the College of Agriculture, as well as faculty from the University of Georgia, Michigan State University, Virginia Tech, University of Nebraska, Shanxi University, China, and the University of Alberta – Edmonton, Alberta, CAN.

Topics will range from climate change issues of food and water availability to the development of sustainable biomaterials and the use of prescribed fire for forest restoration and health. Other topics will include strategies to combat invasive species and disease within forests, and the use of vital rates, population dynamics, and theory to inform game management decisions.

The series is held each Wednesday from 11 am – 12 pm at the School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences Building located at 602 Duncan Drive, Auburn. Refreshments are provided for attendees and CFEs are available where applicable. Advanced registration is not required and community members, faculty and students are welcome to attend. Parking is available on the 3rd and 4th floors of the South Quad Parking Deck. See Parking Services on Level 3 to obtain a visitor pass.
