Expertise: Eckhardt is an expert in the areas of host-pathogen, host-insect and pathogen-insect interactions, fungal biology and ecology, insect biology and ecology and forest health.
Research Interests: Currently researching the biology and ecology of Leptographium species and their vectors as components of southern pine decline and mortality. Primary areas of interest include mycology, host-fungal interactions, fungal-insect interactions, fungal and insect ecology, forest health, and disease risk mapping.
