DESCRIPTION:2022 CFWE Fall Seminar Series presents Patricia Hartman\, Subject Librarian at Auburn University\nTuesday\, August 23\, at 3:30 p.m. in Room 2217 \nTitle: The AU Libraries: Keystone mutualists in our R1 ecosystem \nSummary: Patricia Hartman\, the subject librarian for the College of Forestry\, Wildlife and Environment\, will share how she and AU Libraries can support faculty research\, teaching\, and students. Preview: many new services\, with the classics still intact! \nBio: Patricia Hartman has served as the Biological Sciences\, Forestry & Wildlife\, and Mathematics Librarian at Auburn University since 2013. Before receiving her Master’s in Library & Information Science in 2013\, she earned a master’s in forestry and wildlife at the University of Kentucky\, where she studied migratory songbird ecology and conservation. As a liaison to CFWE\, Patricia most enjoys providing research assistance to faculty and graduate students. \nDetails: \n\nFaculty\, students\, and the public are invited to attend this free program.\nRefreshments will be available.\nIf eligible\, CFEs are available by request.\nAdvanced registration is not required.\nParking is available on the 3rd and 4th floors of the South Quad Parking Deck.

DESCRIPTION:  \n2022 CFWE Fall Seminar Series presents Dr. John Christy\, Alabama State Climatologist and Distinguished Professor of Atmospheric Science and Director of the Earth System Science Center at the University of Alabama in Huntsville\, Alabama \nTuesday\, August 30\, at 3:30 p.m. via Zoom at https://auburn.zoom.us/j/89687535129 \nTitle: Alabama’s Climate: Examples of Research Results and Opportunities. \nSummary: Dr. Christy will discuss his role as the Alabama State Climatologist including initiatives that have resulted from Alabama climatological research and contributions to national and international climate research and policy making. \nBio: Dr. John Christy is the Distinguished Professor of Atmospheric Science and Director of the Earth System Science Center at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Since November 2000 he has been Alabama’s State Climatologist. Dr. Christy has received the NASA Medal for Exceptional Scientific Achievement\, is a fellow of the American Meteorological Society\, and has received an AMS Special Award for employing satellite microwave radiances to calculate global atmospheric temperature. Dr. Christy has served as a Contributor (1992\, 1994\, 1996 and 2007) and Lead Author (2001) for the U.N. reports by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. He has served on five National Research Council panels or committees and has published many articles\, including studies appearing in Science and Nature. \n
