SUMMARY:2023 CFWE Spring Seminar Series - Jayme Waldron
DESCRIPTION:The Auburn University College of Forestry\, Wildlife and Environment’s 2023 Spring Seminar Series will feature Dr. Jayme Waldron\, a Department of Biological Sciences professor at Marshall University\, Huntington\, West Virginia. Dr. Waldron will give a talk titled ‘The long and short of it: Insights from Crotalus rattlesnake monitoring programs’ on Tuesday\, Feb. 7\, at 3:30 p.m. in Room 2217 of the College of Forestry\, Wildlife and Environment Building. Refreshments will be available after the seminar\, and CFEs are available upon request. \nIn Dr. Waldron’s talk\, she will discuss applied conservation approaches and outcomes derived from short- and long-term Crotalus rattlesnake research programs. She will present life history data and discuss difficulties and limitations associated with low detection probabilities of eastern diamondback rattlesnakes (Crotalus adamanteus). \nDr. Jayme Waldron is a professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Marshall University. She grew up in West Virginia and received her B.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Resources from West Virginia University in 1998\, her M.S. in Biological Sciences from Marshall University in 2000\, and her Ph.D. at Clemson University in 2005. She has been studying eastern diamondback rattlesnakes in South Carolina for 23 years. \nFaculty\, students\, and the public are invited to attend this program. Parking is available in the South Quad Parking Deck on the third and fourth floors.
